Personal care
Too many personal care products have terrible ingredients in them, so we are passionate about finding the best options for our bodies. That being said, the major ingredients we look out for are: Fragrance, Parfum, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, PEGs, Silicones, Propylene Glycol, Parabens, Phthalates, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde-Releasing Preservatives, DEA, MEA, TEA, Artificial Dyes & Colorants, 1,4-Dioxane, Aluminum Compounds, Talc, Butane, Isobutane, Mineral Oil, Petroleum-Derived Ingredients, Artificial Sweeteners, Titanium Dioxide, Carrageenan, Synthetic Flavors & Waxes, Ethanol, PFAS, BHA, BHT, Oxybenzone, Octinoxate, and Synthetic Preservatives. This list is very overwhelming, even for us, so we usually scan everything via our Bobby Approved App to verify the quality. Below, we break down our choices for personal care items:
-
We use the brand Alaffia for shampoo and conditioner. We have tried many brands, but this is what we like. It is also very affordable for such large bottles. There are also other options that are better than most, such as Dr. Squatch (we really like this brand too).
-
We just use soap bars for our body and face. The two brands we use are Dr. Bronner’s and Dr. Squatch. We don’t have much of a skin care routine, so these options work great for us and our skin.
-
We use the Sukin Signature Moisture Restoring Night Cream.
-
We both use Dr. Squatch for deodorant.
-
We use Dr. Bronner’s shaving soap.
-
This is completely personal, but Spencer and I use non-fluoride toothpaste, opting for Hydroxyapatite and Xylitol to remineralize our teeth. Our favorite brand is Risewell, but we also will use Dr. Bronner’s. If you want to use fluoride but find a cleaner brand, we like Burt’s Bees Complete Multi-Care.
-
For floss, we use Risewell. Most flosses have PFAS, Synthetic Waxes, Petroleum-Derived Coatings, and Artificial Flavors, so make sure the brand you’re using is free from these items.
